A little video for the Grandmas...

So now we're back at home and had some time to adapt to having a kid.  Needless to say, we're still adapting, but loving every minute of it.

Here's a little video we took today of Lincoln working on his hiccups.  He really is the cutest thing we've ever seen :)

He's done really well since we got home on Saturday morning.  He really, really likes to sleep so far.  He won't even stay awake to eat half the time.  Last night was probably his worst night sleeping, but I think it had more to do with us not knowing what we're doing more than him being a stinker.  Here's some pictures from the first few days at home.

So far the cats have seems pretty indifferent to having Lincoln around.  They just kind of roll their eyes and walk away.  Zee just stays outside where it's quiet.

Here's Lincoln after his bath the other day.  A classic look that he gets whenever he doesn't have clothes on to keep him warm or he has a messy diaper.

This is probably his favorite cuddling position.  Melts your heart, doesn't it? :)

Lincoln Dallas Stahle

Hi Everyone.  We just wanted to announce the good news.  Thursday morning about 1:20am, Ashley's water broke.  We got ready and checked into the hospital.  Later that afternoon, the newest addition to the family was born.

Lincoln Dallas Stahle

21 May 2009

3:56pm

21 1/4 inches

8lbs 3oz

Lincoln was due on May 30th, so we (mainly Ashley) were excited that he decided to come a little earlier.  Who knows how much bigger he would have been if he had waited another 9 days.

He also decided to come out posterior, so Ashley had to deal with intense back labor.  She was incredible and went one contraction to the next.  She just focused and worked hard the entire time.  She had a goal and nobody was going to stop her.  We were so excited to see our little guy and just love being with him.

We were able to spend the rest of Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning in our room at the hospital.  We all slept till 12:00 noon the next day.  Lincoln has been an incredible baby and only seems to cry when he has a nasty diaper or we just took his warm blankets off to change him :)

Our experience at the hospital was great as well.  The nursing staff was very kind and our doctors were the best.  We're so grateful to them and all of you who kept us in your thoughts and prayers.  We hope to see you all soon.  Here's a few pictures from the first hours after delivery and a video as well.

Were you looking for a post about our bab...ies?!

Fooled ya didn't I?!!  Ha Ha Ha(that's my evil genius laugh)! :)  This was a post to trick you into reading about my cats again!  Whooaaahhaahaaaa (extra evil genius laugh)!!

Okay, here's the scoop.  Ashley's mom has been here the last few days and they have the nursery ready to go.

Well Zee wanted to help out as well.  Being that she's only about 6-7 pounds, she thought she should test out the new crib and make sure the baby would fit.  We came upstairs last night to find this...

So G-Ma Teri sees this and says, "I don't think so!"

Then the Evil-mastermind-of-nesting-projects says, "!@#% (Heck) No!!"  (editor's note: she really didn't say that, but I threw it in for dramatic effect.  She really said. "Get out!!")

Then Zee turns around and says, "You love me! And this crib will work perfectly.  I even tried ramming into the bumpers to make sure they would protect the baby.  I'm especially fond of the Espresso coloring and the cute mobile above the pillow that plays lullabies.  2 paws up from me."

So after Zee finished speaking, Ashley made this face and muttered something about cats being meant for dinner and dog entertainment.  Then she grabbed Zee by the neck and threw her against the wall like 8 times! (editors note: Again, didn't really happen.  I just like the image of this happening.  But she did stick her tongue out.  See pic below.)

So I'm thinking that maybe it's time for the cats to head to the orphanage or move to G-Ma Teri's because she loves cats....

But then I come home to find Ashley doing this...

...that's what I thought.  See those 3 white spots?  Those are paws.  Ashley loves these cats more than I do!  Every time I'm ready to throw these cats out on the street fo their lack of respect and snootiness, I find her snuggling with them and she begs me not to get rid of them.  So they stay for now...

Now here's a great picture of our cats learning how to share a bowl of Tuna fish juice.  This is definitely their favorite treat.

It's almost time!!

So, as you can tell from Dallas' post below, I am insane. I LOVE IT!! I have been extremely blessed to have an AwEsOmE pregnancy without any complications or concerns. That being said, I have also been extremely blessed with the following:

This is the best thing ever. I totally forgot that my mom used to have these in our medicine cupboard when I was little and I used to eat them like candy (which I don't think she ever knew about). These kick the trash out of TUMS any day baby. LOVE THEM.

This little contraption is also an amazing secret from my Physical Therapist for those lower back aches and hard to get spots. I LOVE deep massages, so it's a fabulous alternative. Just take 2 tennis balls and put them in your husband's tube sock (then hide the other sock so he doesn't know there's a mismatch), and tie the sock at the end. Tape between the tennis balls to prevent them from sliding. G-E-N-I-U-S! Stand against a wall with this between your back and the wall and move up and down into a squat. Amazing I tell you.

I have found that most of the hormonal stuff we women experience can be highly curbed if we understand ourselves and the "symptoms" well enough.  Pregnancy or PMS or whatever excuse we think we have to be the devil or act on all cravings, etc., is really a big mean trick that our bodies play on us. But, this is a trick I play back! HAHA! If you freeze the yummy Yoplait flavors, it is just as good and much more healthy than a midnight snack of icecream. And it doesn't make you have a carb headache in the morning.  What's up now?!

Great creative friends that make us laugh. Lately, the filter that goes from my brain to my mouth has been a little "Out Of Order" at times. Usually this happens at work. That is why I try to keep my big fat mouth shut when I am irritable/frustrated. WISE CHOICE I SAY. So, in an effort to help me with this, Kyndra gave me a prescription. I am to take 5 tablets (smarties) when dealing with situations that were unpleasant. But, by Dr.s orders, I had her permission to hit coworkers over the head with a keyboard and take the whole bottle... I refrained from using the keyboard, but ate the whole bottle the very next day! :) Yay for a smart and creative friend.

My hot husband has really been the biggest blessing of all time throughout my pregnancy.  The Dr. is impressed at every appointment when Dallas says something that he learned from our birthing class like, "What station is he at?" Lol. Most people don't even know what that means. Dallas has been so fun and made me laugh so much throughout the last 8 1/2 months. I couldn't ask for a better husband! This picture is of him wearing the "BULLSEYE!" shirt I put in his stocking at Christmas. :)

SPEAKING OF BEING SPOILED....
We got to have 3 Awesome baby showers!

Check out this sweet cake that Kyndra made. Are you serious? I've NEVER seen a baby shower cake this rad. I told her she needs to open her own business. It was SOOOO yummy.

Super good food for a Super good good shower. I was lame and didn't take pictures. I know. Sad. It was really fun though. We played games, chatted and I got to get all sorts of great tips from moms that came! Dallas even sent a present for me to open: A sweet Harley Davidson outfit with Jeans/Jean Jacket that have a Harley patch, a sweet orange do-rag and a onesie that says Born To Ride! Lol. I love it. Maybe we'll take some washable tattoos and that outfit to the hospital for the baby to take his first picture in! :)

HOLY BOAT. I didn't realize how much this shirt did NOT fit until I saw this picture. Brookie and I before the shower. (The whole fam came up so I could see Heath the same weekend we had the shower. PERFECT timing!) We partied.

Dallas and I after going to the temple with the fam. We match! (Not on purpose, I'm not THERE yet).

Baby Shower #2. How cool is it that Dallas' coworkers had a baby shower for HIM!  Love that idea and every husband's work should implement this! We had a great time!

Dallas and I opening up our gifts!

Baby Shower #3. Sorry I was lame and didn't take more pictures here either. My boss took this one of me holding the cake though, so I have evidence. Shortly thereafter, the side of the cake ended up on my shirt because I forget how much my freaking belly sticks out! :)

GIRL'S WEEKEND AT THE BEACH!

So...everyone be JEALOUS. Val and Kyndra and I spent the night at Pacific City in a beach house SUPER close to the beach. It was awesome! Way too big for the three of us, but SO fun. We went to the Pelican Pub Brewery where I ate OUTSTANDING Mahi Mahi Tacos, then bought some treats at a little shop down the road. After walking on the beach, we roasted marshmallows and made banana boats (we were supposed to also make Smores, but I FORGOT the graham crackers...lol). After a movie we all snuggled up in our respective bedrooms on beds with memory foam toppers...THE BEST. In the morning we ate yummy crepes (Note: Nutella and fruit on crepes...WAY good). We went to the Tillamook Cheese factory later that day and then headed home. Super relaxing and probably even more so for Kyndra and Val who already have kids. :)
We decided to use hairspray to speed up the process of starting our fire. Then we just added a few match boxes under the wood which made for a great effect. It was high comedy. Go Kyndra!

Kyndra took this picture of me as I was probably rambling on about something...as usual. It looks like I'm saying something really important right?

Well, until next time! Hopefully next time we'll have an update of our little man! May 30th (or thereabouts) will be here before we know it!
